Why did I decide to take the FDE position? Well, I love working at Eli Lilly, and at the time (December 2005), FDE was as good as it was going to get in regard to a position in Clinical Data Management at Eli Lilly. Of course, like most contractors and FDEs, I hope that it leads to something permanent even though it doesn't look too promising at this point. Nevertheless, I consider myself fortunate to have landed in the FDE position. I work in the US Affiliate on the Oncology therapeutic team and have learned so very much. My team leader is wonderfully supportive and I work with a great and caring bunch of people!
I attended my first discussion group last Tuesday morning (Joyce and I were the only early birds there!), and plan to continue attending the morning sessions whenever I can. Hopefully, we'll have some others join us next month. Hope to see you there!

Hello, I too have an A.S. in Medical Technology and worked for 20 years in a clinical laboratory - hospital setting. Went back to college when I turned 40, and got a B.S. in Health Information Administration along with a minor in Computer Technology (Systems & Database Specialty). After graduating in 2003 with my new degree, I began working in the pharma / biotech industry as a clinical data manager / clinical data analyst . I love it!
I also have two sons, ages 26 and 22. Sounds like you and I have several things in common. hope to meet you in person one of these days!
