Hi Gail,
Welcome to the Women & Hi Tech Network. Thank you for joining us! I hope this site will be a useful one for you. I'm sorry I wasn't available last week when you were in Indy. I'd love to get together when you're next in town and learn more about what you're doing. As you can see, this network site is just in the beginning stages, but I'm hoping as we attract more members, we'll get more participation, more content, and more resources. I'd be interested in any thoughts you have to make this a more useful site.
After 25 years in industry, I have recently joined Purdue as a Visiting Professor in Computer & Information Technology. I have 2 years of funding from my former employer, Cummins, to develop a program that leverages technology to improve communities and address large societal problems. One of the areas I am particularly interested in is Workforce Development, and specifically getting more women and underrepresented groups involved in technical careers, both globally and here in Indiana.
What would you like to get from this network?
Expand my connections with other women in technology in Indiana and get ideas from this network as I develop the ideas we will focus on in my new role at Purdue. I would love to hear from anyone who is working on a program to get more women and underrepresented groups engaged in technical careers or anyone working on projects involving technology and community/society.
My Goals (check all that apply)
Be a Mentor, Expand My Network, Promote Women in Technology
